Objective:
To make a Coat of Arms that represents your family and values.
How do I achieve the objective?
- Complete the Coat of Arms worksheet.
- Read information about Heraldry and the Parts of a Coat of Arms.
- Look at Coat of Arms designs on the internet. Decide on a shape of your coat of arms. Key words=Coat of Arms or heraldry-or use this coat of arms.
- Review the Coat of Arms rubric.
- Sketch out your coat of arms. Arrange the first 4 elements, from the Coat of Arms worksheet, on your shield in such a way that they are regal and attractive.
- Draw a scroll above the shield and write your motto on it.
- Be sure to write your name on the Coat of Arms in a manner that looks like it is supposed to be there.
- *Extra-Place an animal(s) on or around the shield. Look at other shields at different internet sites.
- Make your final Coat of Arms. It should fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. You may use draw or design programs to make your final Coat of Arms.
- Grade your Coat of Arms based on the Coat of Arms rubric.
- Go to Quest #5.
