This is just an informational page-no real work involved for students. it explains what a troop is and their function.

A troop is a group of students, usually 4 to 6, that share common tasks:planning meals, purchasing food, preparing food, cooking meals, washing dishes, camping at the same site and watching out for each other.

Within the troop are pairs of students called partners. Partners share tents, dry bags, and are usually canoeing partners.

Troops and partners will be arranged somewhat by the teacher. The teacher will ask students to list at least 14 students that you would like to be partners with. Best efforts will be made to accommodate the wishes of students for partners. If it makes no difference who your partner would be, then indicate so on you list. If the choice for your partner just will not work, then quietly let the teacher know and we can discuss the situation.

When finished reading, go to meal planning.
