  1. Teacher will assign students into groups of about three or four students.
  2. Each group will decide on a name based on camping or canoeing and give the name to the teacher.
  3. The group will also designate a team leader. If a leader can not be decided upon, then it will be decided by rock-paper-scissors.
  4. The group will research where to go canoeing for a three day and two night trip based on the goals and objectives.
  5. Prepared for you is a word document packet of a good place for a trip-the Flambeau River. The packet has almost everything needed to help make an informed decision for the trip. If you are thinking of other rivers to canoe, then Wisconsin Attractions will be a great resource.
  6. Along with the above resources, each member of the group will use the route evaluation check-list. This sheet provides guidelines to help plan the canoe wilderness experience.
  7. As a group, decide which river and river sections would be best for the class based on the route evaluation check-list. Be sure to include justifications for each of the the 5 categories.

When a group decision has been made about where to take the trip, go to group presentation.
