Nonsense Poem-A nonsense poem will probobly not make sense to anyone but you. It does not have to rhyme. It does not have a certain length to its lines. It does not not have to make sense at all, but it does have to have a theme such as winter, sports, trees, flower, people, places and so on. Here is a nonsense poem assignment that will get you started.

Acrostic-A poem based on a single word. Choose a word - river, weather, deer, bobcat, winter, autumn, Wildlands, or any other. Write the word down on the left - one letter per line. Find words that begin with those letters and finish the sentence! These examples and more examples from the internet may help you. Here is a acrostic poem assignment and Powerpoint example that will get you started.

Signs of Spring-In your notebook, divide a page into 5 equal parts. Write sight, sound, hear, taste and touch in each sections(one per section). Travel to your observation point. Write down signs of spring in each of the appropriate sections. The time frame is 25 minutes at your point. 20 or more =A, 19-18=B, 17-12=C.
