Solve
In this stage of a project you should be actively involved in figuring out how to solve your question, collecting information and data related to your question, and analyzing your results. This is one of the biggest stages in your project design.
- A detailed plan including:
- A timeline or calendar.
- Materials, tools and equipment required
- Method or procedure
- Find existing useful/proven methods.
- Modify an existing method
- Or design your own
- Include how you will collect, store, or archive information to support your project.
- Go do something…
- Set it up
- Start
- Collect information or data
- Read about it
- Take pictures of work and results
- Write stuff down, take notes
- Keep good records
- Don’t waste time
- Keep all artifacts
- Phone records
- Emails
- Web addresses
- Notes from reading
- Activity Logs in your journal
- Analyze
- Find ways to analyze data or information
- Ask for help
- Use known math methods such as mean, median, mode, range…
- Group things.
- Develop graphs to show results
- Use pictures to show event sequences
- Develop a flow chart of activity and results using “Inspiration”.
- Fill in your original “Inspiration” document with the details of your project and research outcomes.
- Compare your experimental outcome to others.
- What is the answer to your question? Or: What have you learned?
Remember to keep track of your projects in Project Foundry.
